Testimonials

“As a repeat speaker at Break into the Boardroom events... I have been able to directly influence expansion of boards to include first time members, even expanding my own board to add a BiB candidate. BiB is invaluable for anyone considering a board seat.”

- Rachel Winokur, Co-Founder & CEO, TailorCare

"The guidance to ensure that the board role is the right personal fit has been invaluable. BiB has encouraged me to be thoughtful and engage in areas that are critical to me: mission-driven companies with the right cultural fit that are driving change at scale."

- Dr. Alisa Bahl, President, The Bahl Group

“After joining BiB in 2020 and attending my first event, my confidence in my ability to serve as an effective corporate board member rose exponentially. Since completing the program, I've secured five board positions. For women seeking to expand their network, I highly recommend BiB."

- Carladenise Edwards, Chief Administrative Officer, Miami-Dade County

FAQs for Prospective Candidates & Nominators

What’s the cost of a membership?

Break into the Boardroom offers no-cost participation for all accepted candidates.

What is the length of membership once accepted into the program?

Once accepted, you will be provided with board-readiness resources and events that will prepare you for a future board seat. After your first year of membership, you become part of our alumni community, where you will have access to our resources and remain part of our talent network for life.

Is there a timeline that goes into effect once someone is nominated?

If selected, nominees can expect to hear from us 4-5 months prior to our annual event in May. Members of the BiB team may also reach out.

What is the review process like?

After a candidate is nominated, our team reviews their background to determine if they are a fit for the program. Our criteria are based on a nominee’s experience and seniority, our market knowledge of the companies at which they’ve served, and their overall career trajectory. If we need more information, we reach out directly to the nominating sponsor.

What qualifies someone as a "nominating sponsor"?

A nominating sponsor is a C-suite executive, investor, direct manager, and/or former BiB alum who has direct experience working with a public, private, and/or not-for-profit boards on a regular basis, and believes their nominee is ready to take the next step into board service.

I’d like to apply myself. Do I have to be nominated?

Yes, all candidates must be nominated by a sponsor to be considered for review and admittance into the program. If you are interested in becoming a BiB member, look for the leaders in your network who can confidently speak to your abilities while submitting a nomination form on your behalf.
